Function

The five Governing Board members are elected at-large by the registered voters within the Fort Thomas School District. The Board functions as the governing body of the school district and establishes policies by which the school district is operated. Programs and policies are governing according to laws and regulations of the state of Arizona.

Board Meetings

The Board holds regular meetings the second Thursday of every month at 6:00p.m. at alternating locations of Robert G. Olivar, Sr. Learning Center and Ft. Thomas District Conference according to the posted schedule (Robert G. Olivar, Sr. Learning Center, 297 East Highway 70, Bylas, AZ 85530 & Ft. Thomas District Office, 15560 West Elementary School Road, Fort Thomas, AZ 85536) unless the Board requests the meeting location to be held at our other District locations: District Office, Mt. Turnbull Elementary School, or Ft. Thomas High School Auditorium.  

Notices of all meetings, both regular and special, will be posted at the District office, 15560 West Elementary School Road, Fort Thomas, AZ  85536, and the District Governing Board Website Powered by BoardDocs. All meetings are open to the public except for "Executive Sessions," which may be held to discuss confidential, legal, and personnel matters. Special meetings and work sessions are open to the public; however, only business for which the meeting was called can be discussed. The Board welcomes public comment during regular meetings. Generally, School Board members do not respond to public comment during the meeting. If you would like to speak at our next regular meeting, please complete the Public Participation At A Board Meeting form and submit to the Superintendent prior to the commencement of the meeting.
